AICE Media Studies- Lessons learned
Question 1. How does your product use or Challege conventions and how does it social groups or issues
The finish product was directed towards a certain audience. Specifically injured athletes are the only ones that can relate to what's being seen it the video. The targeted audience at the end of the day is anyone that understands sports. Although It doesn’t really go with Stereotypical conventions and challenged rap video with the guns the guys sagging there pants telling their hoodlum story. However it still tells a story. One of an athlete recovering his pride, dream, and health. There isnt a full storyline due to the limited time in a music video.
Question 2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributive as a real media text? The story in the music video is really something that happens in real life all the time to athletes. Especially in school because everyone is fighting to get to the top. The “Offer” at the end of the video looks like a real one. The story line connects with the words as well so you can make connections with the lyrics to what's happening in the video. If I saw this on social media, I personally would have believed it fully 100%. My knowledge about angles and editing has been enlightened.
Question 3. How did your production skill develop throughout this project?
If anything improved during this project, it was my acting. I’ve never acted before in a video for real. With the help of Zanes directing I was able to develop some kind of acting sense. This gave me the opportunity to even though I was doing it all injured. My good friends make a way. They were very supportive and helpful through my time of healing I still am but moving a better rate.
Question 4. How did you integrate technologies- software, hardware and online- in this project?
In the project since I’m the actor and all I was seen on the laptop looking for a new route "jobs and schools” I know Zane had his equipment I don’t really know the name of anything but the camera Zane was able to get some good shots and the finishing product came out perfect. Zane uses this editing app on his laptop. It looks kind of confusing but he knows how to work it so it all works out in the end. I personally used my knowledge of what i had to acting and winged it and let my groupmates guide my hand.
