AICE Media Studies- Lessons learned

Question 1. How does your product use or Challege conventions and how does it social groups or issues The finish product was directed towards a certain audience. Specifically injured athletes are the only ones that can relate to what's being seen it the video. The targeted audience at the end of the day is anyone that understands sports. Although It doesn’t really go with Stereotypical conventions and challenged rap video with the guns the guys sagging there pants telling their hoodlum story. However it still tells a story. One of an athlete recovering his pride, dream, and health. There isnt a full storyline due to the limited time in a music video. Question 2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributive as a real media text? The story in the music video is really something that happens in real life all the time to athletes. Especially in school because everyone is fighting to get to the top. The “Offer ” at the end of the video look s lik...

AICE Media Studies- Reaching the end

Since my last blog. Zane, Jackson, and I have changed nothing and I am prepared to submit my music video! Once Zane shared it with me in Media class . Zane, Jackson, and I came to a final conclusion to leave the music video the way it is.   Focusing on the color correction was taking away some of the attention from other things that needed editing in the video. For example, Zane forgot to mute the raw audio taken from the shots. So in the background of the music you hear Zane, Jackson, and I talking. Luckily I caught it and now Zane, Jackson, and I are in the clear. Zane, Jackson, and I are looking forward to Christmas now that this project is over! Hopefully I can get some new therapy equipment to have a faster recovery . One thing I wish I had for Christmas is the cold constantly . Since I live in South Florida, I have never seen snow. But it doesn't take away much, and Christmas is still the best holiday. I am very excited for what is coming next in this class and...

AICE Media Studies- New Ideas

Image
So Zane, Jackson, and I ran into some things this week that made Zane want to revise the music video. Zane was watching tv and when scrolling through channels he came upon a music video that was the same genre of the video he was creating. I forgot the name of the song however it ga ve all of us the perfect idea for any transitions. On every thud of a beat. the camera change or cut. Now the song Zane, Jackson, and I a re doing does not have many beats and is more on the cinematic side. But Jackson came to the conclusion that less transitions might be better. Since this is a more cinematic vibe. Zane plans to do transitions through long clips. Zane, Jackson, and I figure that Zane doesn’t need to have many transitions if we just use the long clips that Zane has . On top of that, Zane, Jackson, and I found some new online color correction presets that Zane enjoyed more than his custom ones. He is still on the hunt for one that looks exactly like the video to ...

AICE Media Studies- Errors over come

Finally after all that  Zane, Jackson, and I have been through Zane, Jackson, and I got our editing done! It was a struggle, but we are very pleased with our final outcome of our video. Zane spent multiple hours working on color correction and splitting up the clips. Zane also kept revising the edits until me and Jackson agreed on its looks. Something that I found myself changing over and over again was the tone in my voice . We couldn't really find a good way to smoothly transition the clips from clip to clip. It took some cutting out of film, and small changes in speed of the video to get the proper transitions complete. The concept of color correction that Zane, Jackson, and I wanted for the video was similar to that of the real music video. It was dark and cinematic creating a ominous and Cinematic mood for the video. Zane, Jackson, and I haven't fully committed to the full result as of yet. Zane is still and doing research on conventions to perfect the realism ...

AICE Media Studies- Errors

Image
Once Zane, Jackson, and I tried to begin editing. Zane, Jackson, and I had trouble importing the videos into Adobe Premiere Pro. Zane tried to convert the videos into new file types. and it wasn't working. However, Zane didn't lose faith. Zane uploaded all the files from his phone to his computer, and renamed all the names. This finally worked. B ut        troubles were not over. Zane, Jackson, and I had problems with being able to get a downloaded issue of our song for free.   Every time Zane, Jackson, and I wanted to download the song it prompted me to pay. After enough digging. Zane found a solution. Which was a website where you can connect You Tube videos to audio downloads for free. Sore small issues that my partners ran into included not being able to find a good free editing site. Zane pay s for Adobe Premiere Pro. however, Jackson and I do not. This means Jackson and I don't have the luxury that Zane does when it comes to editing. Z...

AICE Media Studies- The records

Zane, Jackson, and I finally filmed for our music video! Zane, Jackson, and I filmed in Jacksons community and Zane, Jackson, and I had little to know issues. Zane, Jackson, and I were all able to accomplish what we needed for the video, and the results will be what we expected and more. The raw footage from filming was incredible in its self. Even without the music and color correction, you can tell the mood and vibe of the story. With some good editing skills from myself, Zane has very high hopes in the quality of this video. My acting was great, as expected. And the shots given from Jackson were exceptional. Zane went to Jacksons house at round 3:30 pm. I showed up shortly after.   Zane, Jackson, and I then made our way over to the area where Zane, Jackson, and I wanted to film. Once Zane, Jackson, and I arrived, Zane, Jackson, and I got setup, checked with the employees of the community, and started filming. Once done filming Zane, Jackson, and I reviewed the...
